Phan Thiet - Mui Ne

Phan Thiet is the capital town of Binh Thuan province and lies halfway between Nha Trang and HCMC (Saigon). Visitors can stroll through Phan Thiet`s colorful harbors, linger on its long, golden beaches, or explore the nearby 8th century Cham towers.

22 km eat of Phan Thiet is the real attraction of Mui Ne Peninsula and its 10km of sandy beaches and coconut groves. Many attractive small-scale beach resorts have opened up in recent years amongst the palm trees of Mui Ne and it has become a popular place to rest up for a few days. At the end of the peninsula near the fishing village are some enormous sand dunes that look as if they belong in the Sahara rather than southern Vietnam. Constantly changing with the winds and rains, the dunes are never the same ! You can stroll the dunes and admire the wind`s intricate patterns in the sand or revel in the shrieks of delight and laughter as youngsters (and the young at heart) slip and slide their way down 30m (100 foot) high sand dunes. Just don`t forget your camera: Mui Ne`s dazzling blue water, golden sand and red dunes are a photographer`s dream.

For golfers Phan Thiet offers one of the best links golf courses in the region, the Nick Faldo-designed Ocean Dunes Course.
