Mai Chau is located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh. It is the closest destination from Hanoi where we can meet ethnic minorities and admire the superb panorama surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses.

At Lac Village, travelers can have rustic overnight stays in thatched roofs stilt houses and enjoy the minority dances while drinking with long straws an alcoholic beverage called Ruou Can.

Day 1: HANOI - MAI CHAU

Meals: L D

Greet at your hotel in Hanoi and take three and a half hour journey through Hoa Binh province, on the scenic road with mountains, green valleys and traditional village along the way.

Upon arrival in Mai Chau surrounded by spectacular karst rock formations and rice paddies, we will be greeted by friendly White Thai family at Lac village. You will have a chance to communicate with Thai monority poeple and enjoy a simple lunch with them - The Thai has their own language, dress, customs, usages and singular blend of belief, worship and myth.

After lunch, Bicycle ride with your tour guide, see farmers working in fields, locals weaving scarves and visit surrounding peaceful villages.

16:30 – 18:00 : Free time for bicycling, walking, shopping

This evening, after dinner, enjoy a traditional Thai performance of music and dance. The Thai ethnic group has inhabited this area for centuries and much of their lifestyle and traditions have remained unchanged over the years.

Stay overnight in a traditional stilt-house* of the Thai people (The home stay accommodation consists of comfortable curtained-off sleeping areas in one long room; all bedding and mosquito nets are provided).

Day 2: MAI CHAU - HANOI

Meals: B L

After breakfast, we start a light trek for 2 - 3 hour trek through one or some other villages in the Mai Chau Valley.

After lunch, begin the journey back to Hanoi. Along the way, be sure to have your camera ready for picturesque views during coming back.

Reach Hanoi late this afternoon.
